Petaling Jaya, 11 December 2023 – Censof Holdings Berhad (“Censof” or the “Group”), a technology holdings company specialising in financial management software solutions, has accepted a letter of acceptance from Road Transport Department Malaysia (“JPJ”) through its subsidiary, Century Software (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. worth RM9.5 million.

The project entails the back-end maintenance, verification and calibration services for 48 weighing instruments at JPJ’s enforcement stations for a tenure of 36 months, starting from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2026.

These weighing instruments are utilised by JPJ to measure automobile loads particularly heavy vehicles to ensure compliance with the laws governing permitted weight limits gazetted by Ministry of Transport Malaysia.

“Traffic congestion has been increasing rapidly, especially since the easing of the Covid-19 related restrictions, partly due to overloaded heavy commercial vehicles entering the city centre during peak mornings and evening hours. These commercial vehicles with a laden weight exceeding 7,500 kg are generally prohibited from entering the city centre during peak hours. With this said, we are pleased to be awarded with the responsibility of configuring and maintaining the framework of JPJ’s weight instrument configurations to ensure that this ruling is abided by the operators and drivers transporting heavy goods. With today’s back-end digital technology capabilities, the evaluation and logging of vehicles during inspection will not only be streamlined but enhanced further for efficiency and accuracy. Censof is proud to be part of the safety enforcement of the roads here in Malaysia in light of the accidents and traffic congestions caused by heavy vehicles exceeding weight limits on the road,” said Ameer Shaik Mydin, group managing director of Censof.

The Project, valued at RM13.4 million involves the development, supply, implementation, warranty, support, maintenance and licenses of the financial management system by CSM to SSM. The tenure of the Project is for a period of six (6) years, commencing from 19 July 2023 until 18 July 2029.

“We are honoured that the SSM, being the statutory body vested with the authority to regulate and oversee Malaysia’s corporate and business affairs, has selected Censof to provide end-to-end processes pertaining to its financial management system for its organization. This Project is undeniably a testament of our proven track record as a financial management system provider and it is expected to provide the Group’s earnings visibility for the next 6 years from the financial year ending 31 March 2024 onward. With this, I would like to express my gratitude to SSM for their confidence and trust in Censof to execute the Project,” said Ameer Shaik Mydin, group managing director of Censof.

He further added, “Leveraging on our experience and expertise of over two decades, we are able to customise our solutions catering to the needs of our customers. We will continue to develop innovative financial management solutions for our customers and secure more contracts in the near future to further strengthen Censof’s position as the leading provider of financial management software solutions.”
