Cyberjaya, 4 August 2022 – Censof Holdings Berhad (“Censof” or the “Group”), a technology holdings company specialising in financial management software solutions, today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Century Software (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (“CSM”) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”), for a period of three years, with University Malaysia of Computer Science and Engineering (“UNIMY”).

The objective of the MoU is to provide a university-industry collaboration between CSM and UNIMY to drive the evolution of the digital technology industry by developing and delivering substantial real-world training programmes and initiatives to its students. The delivery would be through mutually agreed training and academic linkages and cooperation in the form of internship and management trainee programmes, industry research and thesis collaborations for final year students, as well as providing higher learning or postgraduates opportunities to CSM’s employees at UNIMY. This collaboration is set to play a role in shaping the digital technology industry, in line with the national policy on the Fourth Industrial Revolution (“IR4.0”), through the use of advanced technologies to change the way of living, working and communicating with one another.

CSM and UNIMY share a common goal and believe in developing local talents that are highly sought-after in the vibrant digital-eccentric environment. Both parties intend to provide graduates with the right mindset and collaborative skills to equip them for the working world, in line with the digitalisation movement, going forward.

He further added that the signing of the MOU will see CSM and UNIMY working hand-in-hand to offer CSM internship programme and CSM management trainee programme that will enable students to apply what they have learned, in the real world. The knowledge and training programmes that are planned by CSM for UNIMY students will provide the students with a competitive edge in the job market and have a clearer pathway and control over the students’ career, in the future.

UNIMY’s Vice-Chancellor Associate Professor Ts Dr Zulkarnain Kedah stated, “By working with Century Software (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, we are aiming to bridge the gap between the classroom and the working world in order to produce industry-ready graduates. The current Industry revolution 4.0 has created many new opportunities as well as market demands, and I believe that partnerships between the industry and educational institutions are the way forward to develop new and revolutionary ideas to remain relevant in the fast-evolving digital economy of today”. He also mentioned that there are potential collaboration opportunities between lecturers and developers especially in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
